Castello delle Carpinete
CARPINETE'S CASTLECarpinete's Castle was one of the largest Appennino Reggiano. It is not known with certainty the date of construction. It was owned by the Countess Matilde di Canossa and it is certain that already in 1077 Pope Gregory VII took refuge there to defend against Henry IV and Carpineti emanated numerous acts of his government.
